Last December 25, the morning of Christmas, Sole Box Foundation Philippines did another outreach program in the province of Cavite in the Philippines. About 300 pairs of shoes were given to little kids in the remote town of Alfonso. The event went great and the smile from the face of the kids were enough evidence. Even though 300 pairs are obviously not even half of our first shoe give away, it's still fulfilling to see those 300 kids went home with a smile. Sole Box will also be featured in the local monthly magazine, Tambuli, for their January 2009 issue. I was was sent a list of questions about a week ago for me to answer, all regarding the foundation. Also, yesterday a prominent family in my town donated 50 pairs of shoes to our shoe foundation. Thousands of shoes were accidentally dumped along an expressway in Miami that caused significant delays in traffic flow. The "lost soles" blocked at least two lanes of the expressway. City workers took part to clear at least one of the lanes. Officials said that the owner of the truck that carried the shoes, if he/she comes forward, will pay hefty cleaning costs.
