Everybody knows what happened to the Philippines during the typhoon Fengshen. The country suffered major losses in properties and in human lives. Hundreds of people are still missing. Many people who survived the storm do not have a place to stay because their houses were torn down by the strong wind and those who live near oceans have their houses torn down by big waves.
Because of this, Marikina Designers Club, a leading organization of shoe designers based in Marikina, the capital of shoe making in the Philippines, is holding a fashion show for a cause.
The proceeds will go to the victims of typhoon Fengshen or known as Frank locally to aid the people in recovering from the grave loss.
The shoe fashion show will feature some of the designer's best crafts and some specially made shoes dedicated to the victims of the storm. One of the shoes is painted red, blue, white and black to show red as blood for the deaths during the storm, blue for the sea water that killed hundreds due to the capsizing of a sea vessel, black for typhoon Fengshen and white for the hope of easy recovery.
The fashion show will be at the Mega Trade Hall in SM Megamall starting at 3pm on July 3, 2008. You can buy the shoes used in the fashion show or donate. You can either donate money, old clothes, food goods and other things that will help the victims.
The event will not only be on that day, it will continue on other places until July 9.
Come and help save lives.
