With only a few months left before graduation, I'm already becoming to get pressured to get a job. People in my class are usually expected to get some job offers before they even graduate, so I guess the pressure passes on to me. I don't mind not having a job for a while, truth be told.
But more than the actual job, what I worry about is the outfit that I have to wear to office, assuming I actually get a job based in some corporate office. As I have already said before, I'm not used to wearing corporate or semi-formal attires anymore. I used to wear those kinds of outfits when I go to church regularly years back, but since then, I can't remember the last time I wore one.
My last (and only) remaining pair of leather shoes are actually a bit worn out already. I just used it a few week ago when I had to go for a job interview. I had a hard time walking around because I'm not used to wearing shoes anymore, particularly this pair because it had no shoe ties of any kind. So, I found my feet always slipping off my leather shoes.
I guess it's time to look for a new pair. Another thing that is not so nice about men's leather shoes is that they are relatively more expensive than what you can buy for women. Just like any article of clothing, men's clothes tend to be more expensive than their female counterparts, which is something that I do not understand because women's clothing also tend to have more variety. Women can have infinitely many types of blouses. Men, on the other hand, only have a few shirt and necktie styles to choose from. Women's clothing also tend to more in-demand.
Is it time to say goodbye to my favorite pairs of slippers? Not really, I still have weekends to count on. But from now on, I will really have to get used to feet covered with leather. That also means that I also have to buy myself more pairs of socks.
