Flamenco - The Art of Spanish Dancing Tradition

By Sole Reaper at 07/06/08 23:15

Flamenco is known worldwide as one of Spain's greatest contribution to the art of dancing. It is now an institution of the modern era when it comes to the art of body movements.

I have seen many shows showing Flamenco and there was never a time that I got disappointed by it. I don't mind even if I have to fall in a very long line just to get a ticket.

One of the distinguishing characteristic of dancing Flamenco is how gracefully the dancers dance with the music. They are so graceful that you would not even notice you have not blinked an eye for the whole duration of the dance. It was this characteristic that gave it its other name, Dance of the Doves.

An important element to be able to dance Flamenco in its best form is by using the proper Flamenco shoes. Yes, the very essential shoes specially made for dancing Flamenco.

Usual Flamenco dance steps include shoe tapping the floor. It creates a distinctive sound that goes along with the dance steps and the music beat. Without wearing the very shoes used in dancing Flamenco, the art of the Spanish Traditional Dance will not be embodied.

Need an inspiration? Watch this beautiful video. I could watch this over and over again, and never get tired of it.
